Who We Are
SathiPlus Foundation, Inc. is a New York–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the well-being, independence, and social connections of seniors, families, immigrants, and underserved community members.
Through educational programs, wellness initiatives, cultural activities, volunteer engagement, and community support services, we work to reduce isolation, promote lifelong learning, and foster meaningful connections across generations.
In addition to serving individuals and families, Sathi Plus Foundation supports nonprofit organizations, temples, cultural groups, and community initiatives through volunteer-driven creative, technology, and outreach services that help organizations better serve their communities.

SathiPlus Foundation was created to address the growing need for culturally responsive, community-centered support that goes beyond basic assistance. Many seniors and immigrant families face language barriers, social isolation, limited access to resources, and a lack of culturally familiar spaces. Our programs are designed to meet these needs with compassion, respect, and understanding.
We focus on prevention, connection, education, and empowerment, helping individuals remain active, informed, and engaged in their communities.

What We Do
SathiPlus Foundation provides free, non-clinical, community-based programs that promote social connection, wellness, independence, learning, and inclusion. Our work includes:

How We Work
SathiPlus Foundation partners with community members, volunteers, donors, local organizations, temples, cultural groups, and nonprofit leaders to deliver meaningful programs that reflect real community needs. We emphasize collaboration, trust, transparency, and service in everything we do.
In addition to supporting individuals and families, we provide volunteer-based creative, technology, and outreach assistance that helps community organizations strengthen their impact and better serve the people who depend on them.
We operate independently from any for-profit or clinical entity and maintain clear boundaries to ensure compliance, accountability, and mission integrity.

Dr. Unnikrishnan N. Thampy MD
Board Chair
Dr. Thampy brings over 20 years of experience in adult primary care and internal medicine, with a strong commitment to community health and preventive well-being. His leadership reflects a passion for empowering individuals and families through education, access to resources, and long-term wellness planning. As Board Chair, Dr. Thampy provides strategic guidance and supports the Foundation’s mission to build stronger, culturally connected communities through inclusive programs and support offerings.
Dr. Jagadeesh Bhat, MD
Board Member
Dr. Jagadeesh Bhat is a medical doctor trained in India with professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He brings valuable insight into healthcare systems, public health perspectives, and regulatory environments, along with a strong commitment to community service. As a Board Member of SathiPlus Foundation, Dr. Bhat contributes to governance, strategic oversight, and mission-aligned decision-making that supports culturally responsive programs for seniors and families.
Leadership & Governance
SathiPlus Foundation is guided by dedicated community leaders, volunteers, and advisors who are committed to strengthening the well-being of individuals, families, and communities through service, education, and engagement.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for providing strategic oversight, ensuring accountability, and advancing our charitable mission. The Board helps guide organizational priorities, community partnerships, and long-term sustainability.
Day-to-day activities are supported through volunteer leadership, community partnerships, and program coordination focused on serving the needs of the communities we support.
SathiPlus Foundation operates independently as a nonprofit organization and maintains separate governance, finances, and operations from any for-profit businesses, healthcare providers, or clinical entities.
Rakesh Nair
Founder & Board Vice Chair
Rakesh Nair is an accomplished business leader with an MBA and extensive experience in strategic planning, operations, and organizational development. He brings a strong focus on governance, financial stewardship, and sustainable growth to the Board of Directors. As Board Co-Vice Chair, Rakesh supports the Foundation’s mission by helping strengthen organizational systems, community partnerships, and long-term impact through responsible leadership and collaborative decision-making.
Dr. Pratik Jain, MD
Board Member
Dr. Pratik Jain brings extensive experience in mental health, community engagement, and systems-based care to the SathiPlus Foundation Board of Directors. As a Board Member, he contributes strategic insight and perspective on community needs, program development, and ethical governance. His involvement supports the Foundation’s mission to promote dignity, inclusion, and well-being through culturally responsive, non-clinical community programs. Dr. Jain does not provide clinical or psychiatric services through the Foundation.
